These terms govern your use of the vellerune.com website and any services offered through it. The Vellerune desktop application is governed separately by its End User License Agreement.
Who we are
Vellerune is operated by The Whimsy and Wizardry Limited Company (“we,” “us”). For purchases on macOS, Apple is the merchant of record. For purchases on Windows and Linux, the merchant of record is a third-party payment processor; we'll name and link to them here once that integration is finalized.
Your account
The website does not require an account. The desktop application does not require an account. If you submit your email through a form on this site, you are responsible for the accuracy of that information.
Acceptable use
Don't try to break the site, exploit it, or use it to send unsolicited communications. Don't scrape it at a rate that disrupts service. Beyond that, we trust you.
Intellectual property
The Vellerune name, logo, screenshots, and copy on this site are ours. You may quote and link to this site for review or commentary purposes (we appreciate it).
Anything you create with the Vellerune desktop application — your worlds, your characters, your books — is yours. We claim no rights to your writing.
Purchases and refunds
Pricing on this site is in U.S. dollars. The application is sold as a perpetual license per platform, with all future updates included. Refunds are handled by the merchant of record:
- macOS — through Apple's standard refund process.
- Windows / Linux — through our payment processor's standard refund policy; the specific terms will be linked here once that integration is finalized. A 30-day free trial is provided so you can evaluate the application before buying.
No warranty
The website is provided “as is.” We do our best to keep it accurate and available, but we make no warranties about uptime, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. The desktop application has its own warranty terms in the EULA.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising out of your use of this website is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts located in Missouri.
Changes
Material changes to these terms bump the effective date at the top of the page and are listed here, newest first.
