Frequently asked
Is this really a one-time purchase?
Yes. $69.99 buys a lifetime license for the platform you bought it on, including every future update. No annual renewal, no “version 2 upgrade fee.”
Why per-platform pricing?
Each platform is a separate build with its own license. Mac purchases go through the Mac App Store; Windows and Linux through a direct purchase from this site. If you need it on two machines on different OSes, that's two licenses.
Can I use my license on more than one computer?
Yes — your license works on any number of computers running the same operating system. If you also need it on a different OS, that's a separate license.
Do you offer a trial?
Windows and Linux have a 30-day free trial that counts only the days you actually use the app — unused days don't burn through. Every feature is unlocked, including export. macOS doesn't support trials through the App Store, so it's a direct purchase; Apple's standard refund process applies if it isn't for you.
Does Vellerune work offline?
Yes. Vellerune doesn't need an internet connection while you write. The Windows / Linux build does a quick license check every couple of weeks in the background; if you're offline it skips and keeps working. The Mac build doesn't talk to any servers at all.
Where does my writing live?
On your own machine. Vellerune doesn't run in the cloud and doesn't require an account. On Mac, you can opt in to iCloud sync if you want a backup.
Will there be team or studio licenses?
Not at launch. Vellerune is a single-author tool. If a few of you collaborate, each writer gets their own license.
Can I get a refund?
Mac purchases go through Apple's refund process. Windows and Linux purchases are eligible for a refund within 14 days. The trial exists so you can be sure first.
